If you want G3X and A/P, new is your best path. Icon has already told me they will not retrofit mine.

While the G3X is nice, I still want a used one Icon. Most of my time is spent looking out the windshield in my local area. My AOO is 98% within 20-50 miles of my airport.

I own 2 Icons, my original (SN 0058) and a new G3X one. As much as I hate to do it, I am ready to part with my original one, the hangar is getting crowded with another 2 non-Icon aircraft. My original is in MINT MINT condition, 550 hours. She was always hangared, always well maintained, cleaned/waxed continuously, and just had her annual in October. Lifestyle Aviation is the only place I know selling used A5s right now. They show three available (1/10/23), two of which have fewer than 100 hours: https://www.lifestyleaviation.com/inventory?search=icon.

I nearly bought one from them last year, until I couldn't make the insurance work. Steve Pope was good to work with. A5 insurance is kind of nasty right now. Before you approach your current broker, or anyone else, at least have a chat with Joe Ryan at Wings Insurance. The G3X is cool, but in my opinion it's unnecessary for the A5. It shines the most when less than 500' above the water. Down that low, more glass doesn't add value.
