    Electrical short in-flight

I recently purchased a 2019 A5 and on the second day of training I experienced an in flight emergency. A short occurred at floor level behind the panel right next to the passenger seat.

This occurred on August 11, 2022. ICON was alerted the same day and still no solution exists. I consider this a design defect and could/will affect all A5's. Icon considers this problem due to poor prior maintenance. Is the AP supposed to inspect every wire during the 100 hr inspection? I think not! It appears carbon fiber is a good conductor of electricity and the shorted wires were not adequately shielded when built.

    Any advise is welcomed.
