Cylinder 3/4 Ignition Fault
I started having a Cylinder 3/4 Ignition Fault recently (LAND AIRCRAFT and ENGINE lights come on). The plane is at TPF now for Icon to look at. Anyone here have anu thougs?
EGT3 typically runs 50F cooler than EGT4, but with this CAS runs 100F cooler. Wouldn't the EGT usually rise on single ignition?
I found some info on the Rotax forum from people with similar alerts:
"One of the most common causes of ignition fault messages is the spade connectors on the ignition coils. They get slightly loose, and the ECU flags it, even before you get any symptoms. Just remove the female end of the spade connectors, crimp them down a little and reinstall. "“I pulled coil #4 that services the 3T and 4T plugs, and cleaned the contacts, applied some dielectric grease to prevent oxidation, then ran the engine. No faults. Flew several circuits without indication of a fault. After the flight I pulled the contacts on all of the coils and cleaned and applied dielectric grease to each. All of the other coil's connectors were much tighter than the ones on coil 4. Since this adjustment, I have now completed 5 flights without any fault. "“It’s usually the wire connector on ignition coil. Pull it off and lightly squeeze the spade connector and use some die electric grease.”

I just checked my EGT trends on FlySto, never noticed before that EGT3 and EGT1 values swapped places. I wonder if the sensor cables got swapped during annual.
