Just wondering if anybody out there has any ICON paint colors that they have purchased for their own A5's repairs, and have extra that they would be willing to sell and ship.

I have been waiting for several individual pints of paint from Icon since initially asking to order it in January. No that's its March and the paint is available the prices I'm being quoted on some of the paints have gone up over 250% over what I was quoted in January of this year.

I know shipping will likely be a hassle - but looking at all my options right now.

Just see if ICON will give you the paint codes. Getting the Sherwin Williams paint shouldn't be that hard. The white and Red are single stage, the silver is a base clear.

If anyone has those paint codes please post them here for future reference, especially as over half the fleet has the same color scheme.

Just got a response from Mandy:

"All our paint is ICON specific. They will need to be purchased from ICON Aircraft."

That doesn’t seem right. I wonder if there’s a way to match it, like they do on house paint? At least for touch up purposes.

I totally agree. In addition I asked Mandy to provide expiration dates for the paints I would potentially be buying. The white and grey paint expire 8/8/25. I don't know how the properties of this Tru Glo paint are affected by using it after the expiration date - but it doesn't seem like a great idea to buy paint that I know will expire in just a few months.

I have at several times been told that I must buy a part I need through ICON. Sometimes I am told this by ICON, but sometimes I am told by the part manufacturer after contacting them directly. Sometimes I am told that I can't get the part (even through ICON) because the part manufacturer requires a minimum order from ICON and they are unwilling to place the order until there is a significant need for the part.

I think most of us that bought our E-prop upgrade know that it would have been available directly from E-props at a much lower price - IF E-props would have sold it to us. One lucky individual on the forums here was able to do just that before E-props stopped allowing the purchase.

As far as the E-props go, I noticed some discussion on the Searey site. Some guys have already switched over. Not sure if it’s the same model.
