Heads up - A Fuel Tank Procedure coming
As discovered during my ongoing annual inspection (now 3 months), there was a slight fuel leak detected from top of tank into the bilges (so slight I or my wife never smelt even with windows in). Once we reported it to ICON, we were told it is an ICON issue (no clue who all is effected) which will require servicing. Repair procedure has been approved and they are finishing testing now before they release the document. When they do and we do it, I can FINALLY be out of annual.

Ugh - sorry to hear you're still dealing with this Erich. Always frustrating to be downed while engineering is coming up with a fix. Any info for the rest of us as far as if we should be looking at any particular area for a leak in our own A5s?

For me, in annual the ICON A&P noticed a slight fuel residue in bilge. I thought maybe it was from an overspill at nozzle somehow since I never smelt it and my wife didn’t either (and she would have noticed). Turns out at some point in build, the tank o-ring got contaminated and lets a little fuel through. They are finalizing who is effected and the procedures to repair. If you noticed a fuel smell in cockpit or find residue in bilge, this may be why. They say by end of week testing should be complete and procedures to follow.

Update on my issue:
so of you may have same issue. In the tank construction, the fuel low level sensor o-ring got contaminated and leaks. May be an SD coming soon on this for certain serial numbers. Also, low level indicator may not even be working (as I found out - since I never had fuel that low). I should get a tank in the mail tomorrow with a new sensor pre-attached. My annual that started 11/14 should finally be done! -
