ICON confirms Chinese Factory
In a Christmas greeting emailed earlier today, outgoing Icon President Jason Huang finally confirmed that ICON are "transitioning a portion of its manufacturing to a new, state-of-the-art facility in China". He also announced that Lily Hu will be the new President, and that Jason Courtney (VP of Production) and Noah Collins (VP of Marketing, Sales, and Service) will remain with the company.
Dear ICON A5 Owners,
As the holiday season approaches, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you. Your support, passion, and enthusiasm for the ICON A5 have been instrumental in making this journey remarkable. Seeing how our aircraft has brought joy and adventure into your lives is the greatest reward for all of us at ICON.
This Christmas, as we celebrate the spirit of giving and reflection, I have some news to share—both on a company and personal level.
ICON Aircraft is embarking on a strategic transformation in its manufacturing operations. The company will be transitioning a portion of its manufacturing to a new, state-of-the-art facility in China. At the same time, ICON will maintain a strong North American presence at its headquarters in Vacaville, California. Our management team remains fully committed to ICON’s mission of revolutionizing personal aviation. We are taking every step to ensure operations run smoothly throughout this transition to minimize any disruption for our customers. ICON’s move to a new facility, coupled with advanced tooling and automation, represents a pivotal moment in our history. By continuing to embrace innovation and invest in modern infrastructure, we will be positioned to meet the challenges of an evolving market.
On a personal note, I will be stepping down as President of ICON Aircraft and transitioning into an advisory role with SG Investment America (SGIA). While the ICON A5 will remain our flagship product, my new role at SGIA will allow me to explore investment opportunities within the general aviation industry, helping to diversify ICON’s product portfolio and expand its impact.
I am leaving ICON in capable hands. Our incoming President, Lily Hu, brings over 17 years of executive leadership experience and a proven track record of success. She will be supported by our exceptional leadership team, including Jason Courtney, Vice President of Production, and Noah Collins, Vice President of Marketing, Sales, and Service. Together, they are dedicated to continuing our mission of delivering an outstanding product and experience to you.
ICON’s future is bright, and I am confident that the team will continue to innovate and inspire.
Thank you for being a vital part of the ICON community. Your belief in our vision and your love for the ICON A5 has been the driving force behind everything we do.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with adventure, joy, and success.
Warm regards,
Jason Huang
President (Stepping Down)

Watch out American GA manufacturers here comes the Chinese wolf in sheep's clothing...first they will give you loads of money, then when you get used to that and scale as they want, they won't give you enough to continue but start giving you bridge loans though the East West Bank, when you finally stop paying bills, the company will have to declare bankruptcy because you can't pay them back, then they buy you pennies on the dollar using the American BK process, oh and bonus round the loans they gave you will magically be forgiven right when the gavel is coming down.
Hey I guess they are being honest about taking American tech back to China...
