2025 Seaplane Pilots Association Calendar PICTURES NEEDED
Hello fellow Icon owners and flyers,
I personally am tired of receiving my SPA calendar and seeing multiple pictures of pontoon planes, Searey kit planes and year after year, NO Icons. I challenged Steve McAuley on this at SnF 24 and he claimed the reason the MOST BEAUTIFUL aircraft design in 25 years (my words, not his) has been snubbed by the calendar was the lack of good pictures submitted. I just sent 5 and I encourage as many of you as possible to do the same. If I see another SPA calendar without at least one Icon picture I will not be a happy camper. Please help me in rectifying this incongruous and bewildering situation.
Here is the link to submit photos.

I contacted the photographer who took ICON pics in Monaco last month, he says he I’ll submit photos too. Let’s get ICON on the calendar!

I saw that too. Have we ever made it onto the Seaplane Pilots Association calendar? I was disappointed, especially knowing photos were submitted. Not a single Light Sport seaplane represented this year. While I love floatplanes, 9 out of the 12 featured have the same traditional layout—high-wing, taildragger on floats. It gets a bit monotonous after a while. What I really enjoy in calendars is the display of aerodynamic designs. By leaving out Light Sport seaplanes, they missed showcasing the variety of designs available today.
No multi-engine seaplanes either, so I guess we’re in good company on the sidelines. Makes me wonder if they just didn’t receive submissions for this category.
Oh well, I suppose the ICON A5 is shaping up to be the Susan Lucci of the SPA calendar—she needed 19 tries to win her Emmy. Let’s hope the ICON doesn’t have to wait that long to make the pages! -

I’m new to SPA, Has any of the LS seaplanes ever been on calendar?
Let’s flood them again next year, and maybe combined with (hopeful) corporate news releases of ICON resuming production, it may be a win/win.
