48FA - New seaplane base in Leesburg FL - Icon style
Finally got my seaplane base up and operational (48FA), across the street from KLEE in class Delta. Leveraging Aircraft Caddy with a custom Icon cradle to pull the A5 up to the shop/hangar.

I've used that tug for several years with good results!
Pretty easy to "pimp it up" with items from Amazon if you don't mind doing a bit of rewiring at the 16-pin connector!

Looks like a nice setup, I’m looking at buying lake house in lake county…Is there much complications or red tape to install a ramp into water? Or do I need to find a house with existing ramp

The ramp requires permitting and EPA if you need to clear indigenous plants that are not invasive. I used two contractors to navigate the paperwork and red tape. I did leverage my existing ramp, but needed to clear the waterfront from overgrowth to allow for new dock and seaplane base clearances.

No 'real' requirement to do so (depending on the body of water). Our lake is a private lake, and neighbors could have officially complained and potentially (there is precedent) stop you from landing on your lake. Establishing a seaplane base on the lake removes the ability for complaints. Neighbors are notified, etc. of the seaplane base and have X days to respond. I wanted to protect the investments on the shoreline and ensure that Silver Lake would have seaplanes landing on it for years to come.....

Rob, do you know of any properties in lake county that could be available with existing boat/ seaplane ramp? Also anyone you know at Klee that might share hanger with folded icon?

There are a few houses for sale on Silver Lake . I hear there is a cool Icon there. Lake Dora and Lake Harris have seaplane bases already -- so houses on those lakes are covered.
RE: Hangars. I rent the main hangar at Sunair Aviation for my Bonanza G36. Keep my Icon now at home garage. I'm on the wait list for a T-Hangar there. But you may want to check with SunAir, since they let me keep my Icon in the main large hangar for about 1-year ($$$).
