    Aircraft lighter plug to power the Bose headsets:

    1) Change Bose cables to a 6 pin LEMO plugs:

    Results in both Bose headsets (A20 or A30) to be powered by the 12V cigarette lighter adapter. Both headsets automatically power up when the master switch is turned on.

    I had the ADSB out installed before I even picked it up from the factory, for sure a key thing to have if not standard yet. +1 again on the cordless tire inflator (or even a bike pump to leave for the FBO guys to use in case it's low before they pull it out), but as most everyone has nose tire leakage the most, we also found that the Behringer wheel has some kind of bump near where the bead seats and when it was filed down by the shop that discovered that, it got much, much better at holding air. We also added fixed (permanent) trickle charger connections because until Icon has the new battery options available (including lithium) those are expensive batteries that die sooner than they should if not flown very regularly.

    I'd get a cover as well for at least the canopy, ours is from Bruce's, but I only got that for the engine area, the canopy is a greenhouse but it opens so completely up that you can immediately vent it all out - but I'd cover it if I were leaving the plane outside for any longer time. +1 on the telescoping paddle as well, thankfully I haven't had to use it, I have one with a cutout in the paddle as well that's a handle so you can extend it and have a person grasping each end to pull you into a dock/boat/raft. A Fortress anchor is the best hold for the lightest weight of any I have ever found, I think the smallest is a 4 pounder that we have for the plane, with a short chain rhode and then a bunch of kevlar (I think) rope. I also got two screw-in sand anchors if I may be mooring up to a beach.

    Unfortunately the single most needed simple accessory doesn't exist, a pitot tube cover (long and IMO stupid story about how Kirk Hawkins doesn't like them so instead of using a standard piece he had engineers design their own and shaped it to not readily allow a cover). Attached is a photo of my solution, using an $8 rubber ducky from Amazon! Cut the bottom off and it will slip on and hold perfectly

    For what it's worth, I found it very useful to have a Battery Minder Model 128CEC2-AA-S5 charger with the plug-in extension connected to the battery, like the folks at the Tampa center have it set up, so it's easy to keep the battery on trickle charge. The desulfating function on the charger will prolong the battery life (battery access/replacement being not easy). Would also recommend getting the wing hanger straps that are part of the wing support kit and always using them when the wings are folded. My aircraft is one of those where the wing hanger pin/lock assembly released and dropped the wing on the floor even though the lock was fully engaged - recommend avoiding that.

    Agreed - the 128CEC2-AA-S5 Battery Minder charger has really helped keep my battery stable and trickle charged. I did have Icon help knock out the LSA Major Repair and/or alteration (MRA) to the aircraft logbook. It's a very simple install and setup.

    I'll try to remember to take a picture of that when I'm there again and post that and maybe a video of how it fastens (the forward part of the pitot tube goes into the duck's bill). I cut it with a very sharp knife, pretty much right at the bottom.

    Here you go! I cut it off right at the bottom, and when putting the tip of the pitot tube into the duck's bill, that gives it some "spring" to hold it firmly in place, if I had cut the duck off higher up the body it would be more hanging on the pitot tube vs. wedged in there firmly.

    Icon founder Kirk Hawkins (a former F-16 pilot if I recall) was adamantly against pitot tube covers for some reason. No doubt he or someone he knew had a bad experience from someone forgetting to remove a cover once-upon-a-time? Besides the illogical designing of a new pitot tube from scratch when there are so many more economical versions out there that work already, it seems 90% certain to me that he deliberately had the design NOT allow a cover, as almost every cover ever made would fall off because of the shape of this pitot tube.

    I am guessing Kirk never met a mud dauber (which on a quick search interestingly seem to have taken down more than one plane before: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mud_dauber). A molded-to-fit silicon cover could work, otherwise it has to be something as offbeat as my rubber ducky that just happened to have the right spacing between his bottom side and the head/bill. IMO, no covering on a pitot tube when idled for more than a short period of time is a bad idea and asking for trouble.

    The duck solution didn’t work for me. Perhaps the duck I got wasn’t the exact same as the example here. Instead, I made my own solution, using a small piece of 1/4" ID plastic tubing. Put some silicone in one end, drilled a small hole, and then simply added the keychain.

    Looking at your link. The one I got from amazon is slightly different. Your duck has an open mouth, and mine was closed. Otherwise it looked identical. I ordered mine from Amazon.ca. Maybe different suppliers.

    Good thing is that my solution doesn’t require feeding the duck. I have to admit though, the duck gives the plane some character.
