What gives with Wing Frost?
Hello,
I would love some advice on what I did wrong. 3 of us were going flying in the wee morning. It was 28 degrees outside and about 40% relative humidity. All 3 pilots had their airplanes inside non-heated hangars (RV-4, RV-14a and my Icon, wings folded). We all pulled our planes out at approx. 0715h. Mine immediately got its wings covered with snow/frost (about .5mm). I took a rag and wiped a portion of the leading edge and 15 minutes later, it was covered again. Both RVs got 0 frost on the wings. They left for breakfast at 0830h. I had to wait until almost 1000h before the frost melted. Is this a Carbon Fiber issue? Are the wings special in some way?. My fuselage and empennage was and stayed clean... Weird. The Polycarbonate windscreen also took a LONG time to clear but I expected that.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
