ICON's manufacturing facility in Baja California, just across the Mexican border from San Diego, started as a greenfield in 2017 and is now one of the most cutting-edge manufacturing facilities in the world. When it was first designed, the facility was only intended to produce the carbon fiber parts necessary to manufacture the ICON A5, but over the years, the skilled workforce in the area has continued to take on more of the production process.
In early 2021, the Final Assembly process was moved to the 300,000 sq. foot facility, which provides added flexibility and increased integration for the manufacturing and engineering teams that make the A5. Once assembly is complete, the aircraft is shipped to ICON's headquarters in Vacaville, CA for completion, quality inspection, production test flight, certification, and delivery.St Petersburg, FL - N1BA #140 Icon G3x & N329MC Phenom 300 -

Very impressive process. You can see how time-consuming it is to build one Icon. Lots of labor.
