At the first IOPA meeting in early February, I provided some insight on how you can be sure your current broker is selling you to underwriting every year.

I have attached (below) a formal Market Summary of all underwriters currently available in the market and their Icon appetite. This summary is the final page of every insurance proposal I send.

The goal is transparency and freedom to choose the option that works best for you.

Joe, great summary. It should be noted that Great American requires a PPL. There is another market that we are vetting too and I'll be back to the board to post our findings.

ICON holds an open house for all of the, willing/able to attend, underwriters at AirVenture each year and they also provide demo rides. The OEM's executive team provides a very informatitve presentation on and data for the underwriters to digest in order to get the premiums lowered at the show too.

There is also an option for a land only instruction step with one of the carriers. This allowed more pilots to fast track their training since those who were sea instructors could focus on the specific sea training.
