    Engine noise reduction

Has anyone tried basic light foam sound proofing material on firewall to lower noise levels ?

I love how the plane flys but it is significantly louder than both SeaRey and SeaMax and wondering if anyone has tried any simple ways to reduce decibel levels?

There is a thin sound/heat pad inside the engine nacelle. I wonder if I con left out additional padding behind the rear bulkhead to save weight. I am going to try Brett's idea of using Noise cancelling AirPods INSIDE my A20s.

I tried that but don’t love them in the ear and headset on. I bought some noise cancelling wall pads and they all together weigh less than 2lbs so I’ll give that a shot and let everyone know what happens.

Let me know what you end-up doing. The best place for soundproofing is behind the bulkhead where the pumps and Avionics cooling fan both are but you need LSA-RM to get in there.

Oh yeah, I wasn’t planning to do anything that fancy. I was just going to adhere them to the back interior wall and see if it helps. Probably won’t, but I’ll let you know.
