Aircraft power for Bose headsets
I got tired of changing headset batteries and wanted two powered LEMO plugs for the Bose headsets in the Icon A5. With the A5 being an LSA we need factory approval to hardwire jacks, but I was able to take a non-powered $30 LEMO to GA plug adapter and solder-in a 12v wire that runs to the cigarette lighter in the armrest. Success!

Solder + wire
The standard LEMO to GA plug adapter just provides a sound connection.
By soldering a wire to the 12v pin and running it to a cigarette lighter adapter, the same cable also provides power to the headset. No need for a dedicated ground wire, since it uses the ground of the audio system.
Been using this for a year and half now, works great (both in legacy and G3x Icon).

I just ordered my LEMO kit to wire mine. We need the thirst set of A-20s (no LEMO) for the dog so it works out! Will post final product

This would be fantastic to have a powered LEMO plug. Great idea! Would this prepackaged solution also work exactly the same?

I just ordered and will give it a try! Battery life with Bluetooth is miserable so I am hoping this works. Thanks for the idea.

To not "Change the aircraft" the best solution is a Plug-with-12V adapter concept. I may cheat and drill a few holes so my LEMO plug looks clean and does not prevent the use of the other two connector pairs. Will post pictures.

My off the shelf solution:
1) Changed both of my A20 cables to a 6 pin LEMO plugs:
https://www.bose.com/en_us/products/...t_ii_acc_black
2) Ordered two LEMO plug 12v adapters: https://www.flighthelmet.com/product/AVPT-8995.html
3) Ordered a cigarette lighter splitter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is not the cheapest option but it worked. I now have two Bose A20 headsets both powered by the 12V cigarette lighter adapter. Both headsets also automatically turn on when the master switch is turned on.
