SB: BRS parachute rocket actuation cable thread Loctite (SB-121020)

ICON Aircraft has determined that it missed a BRS-required manufacturing step during assembly of the BRS parachute system. Loctite 242 should have been applied to the threads connecting the rocket adapter cone to the rocket attach cone during the assembly of the Bowden cable that actuates the firing of the parachute rocket. ICON and BRS have both determined that there is no risk of accidental actuation of the rocket assembly and there have been no instances of accidental actuation due to this missed manufacturing step. Further, BRS testing has confirmed that the parachute rocket will still fire correctly in the event of unthreading between the rocket adapter cone and the rocket attach cone. This bulletin will detail the application of Loctite 242 to the threads connecting the rocket adapter cone to the rocket attach cone of the Bowden cable.
